About Zhoushan Putuoshan International Airport
Zhoushan Putuoshan International Airport is the main airport serving Zhoushan and the surrounding islands of eastern Zhejiang. Opened in 1997 and renamed as an international airport in 2024, it handles domestic flights and the region's first scheduled international route to Hong Kong, launched in November 2024.
Located on Zhujiajian Island in Putuo District, about 16 km from central Zhoushan, the airport serves as a regional gateway and is also home to a Boeing B737 completion and delivery centre. Its single terminal complex covers 28,816 square metres and features three boarding bridges and 20 aircraft stands.
Travellers can reach central Zhoushan by taxi, airport bus or private transfer, while the nearby Wugongzhi Wharf provides ferry connections to Mount Putuo, one of the region's most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites.
