About Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport
Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport is the main international airport serving Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, and the wider Central Plains region. Opened in 1997, it is an important domestic hub and international cargo gateway in central China.
Located about 25–30 km southeast of central Zhengzhou in the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, the airport handles a wide range of domestic and international flights. Passenger services are concentrated in Terminal 2, which opened in 2015; the earlier Terminal 1 closed to passenger traffic in 2016 and was repurposed.
The airport is connected to the city by the Zhengzhou Metro Chengjiao Line, intercity trains from the airport railway station, airport buses, taxis, private transfers and road links such as the S1 Airport Expressway. These options make it relatively straightforward to continue to central Zhengzhou and onward to cities such as Kaifeng and Luoyang.
With modern terminal facilities, dining, shopping, lounges and onward travel connections, the airport functions as a major gateway for visitors to Henan and nearby destinations including the Shaolin Temple area near Dengfeng.
