About Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport
Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport is the main airport serving Zhangjiajie and the wider Wuling Mountain area of northwestern Hunan. Opened in 1994 and renamed over time, it gained international airport status in 2017 and is Hunan's second largest international airport.
Located about 5 km southwest of downtown Zhangjiajie in Yongding District, the airport is a convenient gateway to Tianmen Mountain and the UNESCO-listed Wulingyuan scenic area, including Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Terminal 2, opened in September 2015, is the airport's single passenger terminal and handles both domestic and international flights.
The airport is connected to the city centre by airport shuttle bus, city bus, taxis, private transfers and road links, with Wulingyuan and its major attractions reachable by onward road transport.
Inside the terminal, travellers can use restaurants, cafés, shops, lounges, free Wi-Fi, charging points and other passenger facilities before continuing to the city or the region's major scenic destinations.
