About Zayed International Airport
Zayed International Airport is the main international airport serving Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and the wider emirate. Formerly known as Abu Dhabi International Airport, it was renamed in 2024 and now operates passenger services through Terminal A, which opened in late 2023.
Located roughly 30 km east of central Abu Dhabi, the airport connects the UAE capital with destinations across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Africa and beyond. Terminal A is a large X-shaped terminal with four themed piers, and it serves a wide range of airlines, including the hub operations of Etihad Airways.
The airport is linked to Abu Dhabi by taxis, public buses, private transfers, chauffeur services, rental cars and road connections, making it easy to reach the city centre, Yas Island, Saadiyat Island and other parts of the emirate.
Passengers can use a range of facilities including restaurants, cafés, shops, duty-free retail, lounges, free Wi-Fi and charging points. A biometric Smart Travel system, self-service check-in and a US pre-clearance facility help make the airport journey quicker and more convenient.
