The airport operates a single compact passenger terminal and one asphalt runway. Facilities are kept simple and functional, with check-in, security, arrivals and a small waiting area located close together so that passengers can move through the terminal quickly.
Delma Island lies in the Arabian Gulf, roughly 250 km southwest of Abu Dhabi city. Travelers can also reach the island by ferry from Jebel Dhanna on the mainland, then continue by road, while the airport offers the fastest direct connection to the capital.
