About Yutian Wanfang Airport
Yutian Wanfang Airport is a domestic regional airport serving Yutian County in Hotan Prefecture, southern Xinjiang. Opened on 26 December 2020, it brought scheduled air service to an area on the southern edge of the Taklamakan Desert and is jointly used for civil and military aviation.
Located about 11 km southeast of Yutian county town, the airport provides connections to Urumqi and other cities across China. It serves residents, business travelers and visitors travelling to Yutian and nearby counties such as Cele and Minfeng.
The airport has a single-storey passenger terminal of about 3,010 square metres, a 3,200-metre runway and six aircraft parking stands, and is designed to handle regional domestic traffic.
Ground access is mainly by taxi, private car or pre-arranged transfer, making the short journey to Yutian town and onward travel across the Hotan region relatively straightforward.
