Yantai Penglai International Airport (YNT)

Yantai Penglai International Airport is the main airport serving Yantai and the surrounding Penglai coastal area in Shandong province. It opened on 28 May 2015, replacing the former Yantai Laishan Airport, and now functions as the city's principal gateway for domestic and international travel.

The airport is located in the Chaoshui area of Penglai District, about 43 km from central Yantai. Its current passenger operations are centred on Terminal 2, which opened in June 2024 and was designed to accommodate up to 23 million passengers and 200,000 tonnes of cargo and mail each year. The older Terminal 1 opened with the airport in 2015 and no longer handles regular passenger flights.

Road access to the airport is provided by the G18 expressway and National Highway 206, and travellers can continue to Yantai, Penglai and other Shandong destinations by airport bus, taxi, ride-hailing, private transfer or rental car. Typical road travel between the airport and central Yantai is around 50–70 minutes, depending on traffic.

Terminal 2 combines check-in, security, arrivals, baggage claim and commercial facilities in one modern building, with shops, dining, lounges, Wi-Fi and accessibility services. These connections and facilities make the airport a practical gateway for visitors heading to Yantai's business districts, Penglai's coastal attractions and the wider Shandong coast.
