About Vohemar Airport
Vohemar Airport is a small regional airport serving Vohémar, a coastal town in the Sava region of northeastern Madagascar. The airport is situated about 3 km southwest of the town centre and is also recorded under the name Amboronana Airport.
It has a single asphalt runway, designated 14/32 and approximately 1,300 metres long, together with one compact terminal building. The airport currently has no regular scheduled passenger services and mainly handles private and charter flights, with the largest authorized aircraft being the ATR 72.
The airport is supervised by Société FLOR IBIS and operates as a restricted public airfield. It is connected to the town and to the wider Sava and Diana regions by the rehabilitated RN5 road, which links Vohémar toward Ambilobe.
Facilities remain basic, with a small waiting area and limited passenger services, so most onward travel is arranged by road using private transfers, taxis or rental vehicles. It nevertheless serves as an important local access point for this remote coastal area.
