About Vilnius Airport
Vilnius Airport is the main international airport serving Vilnius and Lithuania, and one of the largest airports in the Baltic states. Its civil aviation history dates to 1932, when the first scheduled passenger route opened, and today it connects the capital with destinations across Europe and beyond.
Located about 6 km south of central Vilnius, the airport serves both leisure and business travelers. Passenger operations run through a compact terminal complex: the heritage building completed in 1954 handles arrivals, while a modern departures terminal opened in February 2025 handles check-in, security and departure gates for Schengen and non-Schengen flows.
The airport is connected to the city by a direct rail link, with trains reaching Vilnius central station in around 7–8 minutes, as well as city buses, taxis, ride-hailing, private transfers and road links. This makes it easy to continue to the Old Town and surrounding areas.
With modern passenger facilities, shopping, dining, lounges, car rental and onward travel options, the airport functions as a practical gateway for visitors arriving in Lithuania's capital region.
