Vila Rica Airport (VLP)

Vila Rica Airport is a small public airport serving the municipality of Vila Rica in northeastern Mato Grosso, Brazil. Located about 5 km from the town centre and beside the BR-158 highway, the airport is managed by the local municipality and functions as a regional access point for the North Araguaia area.

The airport has a single 1,350-metre runway and a compact passenger terminal. It primarily supports domestic, charter and general aviation traffic, including agricultural and business flights linked to the surrounding region. Scheduled commercial services have been limited, so travelers usually need to confirm flight availability in advance.

Road access is straightforward from central Vila Rica, with travel by private car, taxi or pre-arranged transfer typically taking only a few minutes. The airport also serves as a convenient entry point for nearby municipalities such as Confresa, Santa Cruz do Xingu and Porto Alegre do Norte.

Passenger facilities are basic but functional, with free on-site parking and a small waiting area. Because services such as shops and restaurants are limited, visitors are advised to plan for their onward journey and personal needs before arrival.
