About Ariquemes Airport
Ariquemes Airport is the airport serving Ariquemes, a city in the central-northern part of Rondônia, Brazil. Operated by Infraero since 2024, it previously handled regional commercial flights in the early 1980s and has since mainly supported general aviation, flying club and training operations.
Located about 4 km from the city centre, the airport has a single asphalt runway measuring 1,306 m by 18 m. A modernization program is underway to expand the runway, build a new permanent passenger terminal of about 1,573 m², and add new taxiways, an aircraft apron and navigation aids.
The airport is connected to Ariquemes by local roads, with taxis, private transfers and rental cars providing the short journey into the city. The BR-364 highway links the area to Porto Velho, the Rondônia state capital, about 198 km away.
A provisional passenger terminal has been put into service while the permanent facilities are built, improving passenger comfort and support for air operations. Once completed, the redevelopment is intended to allow the return of scheduled regional flights and strengthen the airport's role as a gateway for the region.
