About Útila Airport
Utila Airport is the primary airfield serving Utila, one of Honduras' Bay Islands and a well-known scuba diving destination. It links the island with mainland Honduras and neighboring islands through scheduled domestic flights, along with private and charter traffic.
The airport sits about 1.6 km (1 mile) northeast of Utila Town, while Utila itself lies roughly 36 km (22 miles) offshore from La Ceiba on the Honduran mainland. Its single asphalt runway is used by airlines connecting Utila with La Ceiba, Roatán, and San Pedro Sula.
The terminal is small and simple, with a compact waiting area and limited facilities, reflecting the island's low-key travel style. Onward travel is typically by tuk-tuk, taxi, or golf cart into Utila Town, while ferries provide a mainland link from the island's docks.
For visitors, the airport is a convenient entry point to the island's dive shops, beaches, and guesthouses, with most of Utila Town's accommodations only a short ride away.
