Ulanhot Yilelite Airport (HLH) is the main civil airport serving Ulanhot and the wider Hinggan League in eastern Inner Mongolia. Opened in 1995, the airport links the city with domestic destinations across China, including services to Beijing and Hohhot.
The airport sits in Yilelite town, roughly 11 km from central Ulanhot, and operates as a compact domestic regional gateway. A new runway entered service in early 2015, and a new terminal building opened in July 2015, giving the airport a 2,600-meter runway and a modern passenger terminal with check-in, security and arrival facilities under one roof.
Passengers can continue to Ulanhot by taxi, private transfer or road transport, with the city center normally about 20–30 minutes away. Pre-booked transfers and local transport options make onward travel from the terminal straightforward.
