About Trat Airport
Trat Airport is the main air gateway to Trat province and the eastern Thai islands of Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Kood. Opened in 2003, it is owned and operated by Bangkok Airways and serves primarily the domestic route between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Trat.
The airport is located roughly 33 km from Trat city centre, near the ferry piers that link travelers to the islands. It has a single paved runway of 1,800 metres and a compact open-air terminal with two pavilion-style passenger buildings.
Because the airport is small, arrivals, check-in and security are handled within a short walking distance, and the airport offers customs, immigration and quarantine facilities for passengers on connecting international journeys.
Ground transport includes minivan transfers to Trat town and the piers, taxis, rental cars and pre-booked private vehicles. Facilities include a restaurant, free Wi-Fi, an ATM and complimentary snacks and drinks for waiting passengers.
