About Trang Airport
Trang Airport is the main airport serving Trang province in southern Thailand. Located about 7 kilometres south of Trang city centre, it connects the provincial capital with Bangkok and supports travel onward to the region's Andaman coast destinations.
The airport has a long history, having been officially opened as an authorised airfield in December 1954. A new, larger passenger terminal began operating with a soft opening in September 2025, replacing the older facilities and providing more space for travellers. Today it is served by domestic airlines including Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air and Nok Air, with scheduled flights to Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport.
The airport currently operates as a domestic gateway while runway and airfield upgrades continue, with work reported to be due for completion in 2028. Ground transport options include taxis, buses and limousine services, making it straightforward to reach Trang city, Pak Meng Beach and nearby island departure points.
With a modern terminal offering cafés, restaurants, shops and passenger amenities, Trang Airport serves as a convenient entry point for visitors heading to Trang town and the islands and beaches of the surrounding Andaman coast.
