About Tongren Fenghuang Airport
Tongren Fenghuang Airport is the main airport serving Tongren in Guizhou and the Fenghuang area of neighboring Hunan Province. The airport dates back to the opening of Tongren Daxing Airport in 1972, and after a period of closure it resumed commercial service in 2001 before being renamed Tongren Fenghuang Airport in 2009.
Located about 22 km southwest of central Tongren and 28 km northeast of Fenghuang County, the airport operates as a 4C-class regional airport shared by Guizhou and Hunan. Its modern Terminal 2 has handled domestic services since 2017, and the airport has since gained approval to serve international flights.
The airport is connected to Tongren by city bus Route 20, taxis, private transfers and road links, making onward travel to the city centre, Fenghuang Ancient Town and nearby attractions such as Fanjing Mountain relatively straightforward.
