About Tokyo Haneda Airport

Tokyo Haneda Airport, officially Tokyo International Airport, is the main international airport serving Tokyo and the surrounding Kanto region. Located in Ota City, it is the closest major airport to central Tokyo and a key gateway for domestic and international travel.

Opened in 1931, Haneda has developed into a modern three-terminal airport. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 mainly handle domestic flights, while Terminal 3 serves most international traffic. The international terminal opened in 2010 and was renamed Terminal 3 in 2020, with Terminal 2 also offering some international services.

The airport sits roughly 14 km south of central Tokyo and is connected to the city by the Tokyo Monorail, the Keikyu Line, buses, taxis, private transfers and road links, making it convenient to reach districts such as Shinagawa, Shinjuku, Shibuya and Tokyo Station.

With extensive shopping, dining, lounges, Wi-Fi and passenger facilities, Haneda functions as a major gateway for visitors arriving in Japan and a convenient starting point for travel to Tokyo, Yokohama and the wider Kanto region.
