Les Saintes Airport (LSS)

Les Saintes Airport is the main air gateway to Terre-de-Haut and the Îles des Saintes archipelago, a group of small islands that forms part of Guadeloupe in the French West Indies. Inaugurated in 1968, it handles short regional flights operated by light aircraft, mainly connecting the islands with Guadeloupe-Pôle Caraïbes airport in Pointe-à-Pitre.

The airport sits by the Caribbean Sea at the edge of the town of Terre-de-Haut, on an isthmus in the middle of the island. Its single paved runway, about 580 metres long, is restricted to category D light-aircraft operations, and pilots require a special site qualification to land here.

Because of its central location, the airport is within a short walk of Terre-de-Haut's town centre, harbour and ferry terminals, which link Les Saintes with the rest of Guadeloupe and neighbouring islands. Taxis and local transport are also available for the short journey to nearby hotels and guesthouses.

As a compact island aerodrome, Les Saintes Airport focuses on simple, practical travel rather than large-scale facilities. Passengers pass quickly through a small terminal, making it a convenient starting point for exploring Terre-de-Haut's beaches, hiking trails and coastal villages.
