About Marie-Galante Airport
Marie-Galante Airport is the only airport serving Marie-Galante, one of Guadeloupe's outlying islands in the Caribbean. Also known as Les Bases Airport, it lies about 5.5 km east of Grand-Bourg at Pointe des Basses and provides a short domestic air link with Guadeloupe's main airport, Pointe-à-Pitre (PTP).
The airport was built in the 1950s and has a single 1,240-metre asphalt runway and one compact passenger terminal. Scheduled flights between Marie-Galante and Pointe-à-Pitre resumed in recent years, restoring a convenient air connection for residents and visitors.
Located just outside Grand-Bourg, the airport is a short drive from the town centre, with taxis and rental cars the main onward travel options. Its small size keeps the passenger experience simple, with short walking distances between the terminal and aircraft.
