About Basse-Terre Baillif Airport

Basse-Terre Baillif Airport (BBR) is a small public-use airfield serving Basse-Terre, the administrative capital of Guadeloupe. Located in the commune of Baillif on the southwest coast of Basse-Terre island, it primarily supports light aircraft, private charters and general aviation rather than scheduled commercial flights.

The airfield has a single asphalt runway of about 620 metres, aligned 14/32, and a compact terminal building with basic passenger facilities. Because there are no customs, immigration or fuel services on site, longer international and scheduled journeys are handled mainly at Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet Airport (PTP), roughly 50–60 km to the northeast.

Sitting about 3 km northwest of central Basse-Terre, the airport gives visitors convenient road access to the city and to the natural attractions of the island's western coast, including Guadeloupe National Park and the Soufrière volcano. Public transport is limited in the immediate area, so most travelers continue by taxi or pre-arranged private transfer.

Despite its modest size, the airport serves as a useful local gateway for private and charter travel to the Basse-Terre region, complementing the larger international airport at Pointe-à-Pitre.
