About Taizhou Luqiao Airport
Taizhou Luqiao Airport is the main airport serving Taizhou, a coastal city in Zhejiang Province, and the surrounding region. The site began as a military airfield in 1955, became a dual-use military and civil airport in 1987 and later served as China's first county-level civil aviation station. It was renamed Taizhou Luqiao Airport in 2008.
Located in Luqiao District about 20 km from the city centre, the airport connects Taizhou with domestic destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Xi'an. An expansion completed in December 2024 added a new terminal of about 35,000 square metres, six boarding bridges and 16 aircraft stands.
The terminal serves domestic flights with check-in islands A and B, security screening and a ground-floor arrivals hall. Smart systems support self-service check-in, baggage drop, security and boarding.
The airport is connected to the city by public bus lines, taxis, private transfers and road links, with services toward Jiaojiang, Luqiao, Huangyan and the coach station. Nearby destinations such as Yandang Mountain can be reached by onward road connections.
