About Songkhla Airport
Songkhla Airport is a joint civil and military airfield located within Songkhla Naval Base in southern Thailand. The airport serves the city of Songkhla and the surrounding area, primarily supporting Royal Thai Navy patrol, government and general aviation operations rather than scheduled commercial passenger flights.
The airfield sits about 3 km southeast of Songkhla city centre and has a single asphalt-concrete runway, 13/31, approximately 1,510 metres long. It is not an official airport of entry and does not offer customs or immigration facilities, so international passengers normally use Hat Yai International Airport, the main commercial gateway for the province.
Because the airport is close to the city, onward travel by road is short and straightforward. Taxis, private transfers, car rental and local transport can connect the airfield with Songkhla town, Samila Beach and other nearby destinations.
Passenger facilities at the airfield are limited, in line with its military and general aviation role. Travellers using private or chartered flights should arrange handling and ground services in advance and confirm access requirements.
