About Shaoyang Wugang Airport
Shaoyang Wugang Airport is a regional civil airport serving Wugang and the wider Shaoyang area in Hunan Province. Opened on 28 June 2017 as Shaoyang's first civil airport, it was built mainly to support tourism and regional air travel.
The airport operates a single terminal building of about 3,210 sq m with a 2,600 m runway and four C-class aircraft stands. It handles domestic flights linking the region with destinations such as Beijing, Changsha, Chongqing, Haikou, Hangzhou, Kunming, Lanzhou, Shenzhen and Zhengzhou.
Located around 9 km from downtown Wugang and roughly 100 km from the urban centre of Shaoyang, the airport is connected by shuttle buses to Shaoyang and the Mt. Langshan scenic area, as well as by taxi and road links. Wugang North Railway Station is also within a short drive.
Passenger services include a single terminal with check-in, security and arrivals areas, free Wi-Fi, a VIP lounge, drinking water, luggage trolleys and assistance for passengers with reduced mobility, making it a convenient entry point for visitors to the Hunan region.
