Serra da Capivara Airport is the regional airport serving São Raimundo Nonato, in southeastern Piauí, Brazil, and is the main air gateway to Serra da Capivara National Park. Opened on 27 October 2015, the airport was built to improve access to the park's archaeological sites and to the wider Serra da Capivara tourism region. The airport has a single two-storey passenger terminal and a 1,650-metre runway suitable for small and medium aircraft. Check-in counters, departure and arrival areas, restrooms and an event auditorium are located within the terminal, while parking and road access connect it to the surrounding area. Located about 10 km from downtown São Raimundo Nonato, the airport is reached by road, and travelers typically continue by taxi, private transfer, chauffeur service or rental car. Scheduled commercial service has been intermittent, and the airport is also used for private and charter flights. Its main role is to support visitors travelling to Serra da Capivara National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its prehistoric rock art, and to nearby destinations in the Piauí interior.
