About Savusavu Airport
Savusavu Airport is a small domestic airport serving Savusavu, a town on the south coast of Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second-largest island. Operated by Airports Fiji Limited, it connects the Savusavu area and the wider Cakaudrove province with Nadi and Suva through regular Fiji Link services, with Northern Air also operating regional flights.
Located just south of Savusavu town, the airport provides a convenient entry point for travellers visiting the town’s marina, hot springs and nearby coastal resorts. The compact terminal handles arrivals and departures together, with a single asphalt runway serving short-haul domestic aircraft.
The airport sits roughly 2.5 km from the town centre, and the short transfer is easily made by taxi, pre-booked transfer or rental car, with a driving time of about five to ten minutes. Its location makes it a practical gateway for holidaymakers and business travellers heading to the Savusavu area.
Facilities are modest, reflecting the airport’s regional role, with basic passenger services in a small terminal. Despite its limited size, the airport plays an important part in keeping Vanua Levu’s southern coast connected to Fiji’s main international hubs.
