Yasawa Island Airport is a small airstrip serving Yasawa Island and the surrounding Yasawa chain in Fiji's Western Division. It functions mainly as a gateway for guests traveling to island resorts, with charter flights, helicopter services and general aviation rather than scheduled commercial airline operations.
Located on Yasawa Island, the airport has a single dirt and grass runway about 594 metres long and 40 metres wide, oriented 03/21. It has no terminal building, customs facility, air traffic control or formal security screening, and flights operate under visual flight rules, making schedules dependent on weather and daylight.
Most visitors reach the island on scenic flights from Nadi International Airport, approximately 65 kilometres away, with a typical flying time of around 30 to 35 minutes. After landing, resort shuttles and boats connect passengers to Yasawa Island Resort & Spa, Turtle Island and other stays across the chain.
Although facilities at the airstrip are limited, the airport provides a convenient and direct link to some of Fiji's most remote beaches, dive sites and resorts, keeping Yasawa Island accessible without a long ferry journey.
