About Turtle Island Seaplane Base
Turtle Island Seaplane Base is a small seaplane landing area on Nanuya Levu, known as Turtle Island, in Fiji's Yasawa Islands. It serves the private all-inclusive Turtle Island Resort, which occupies the island and accommodates a limited number of guests at a time.
The base lies about 89 km northwest of Nadi, the main gateway on Viti Levu, and is normally reached by a scenic seaplane flight of around 30 minutes from Nadi. International visitors usually complete arrival formalities at Nadi International Airport before continuing to the island by seaplane or, less commonly, private boat.
As a resort seaplane base, the site has no conventional terminal complex. Aircraft land on the water, and passengers are met at the island's beachfront landing area before being transferred to villas and resort facilities.
Turtle Island is known as a filming location for the 1980 movie The Blue Lagoon and sits in the Yasawa archipelago near the Blue Lagoon and neighbouring islands. The base's compact scale and direct resort connection make it a convenient but exclusive entry point for travellers staying on Turtle Island.
