San Cristóbal Airport serves San Cristóbal Island and Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the administrative capital of the Galápagos province. It is the second-largest airport in the Galápagos archipelago and provides domestic connections between the island and mainland Ecuador.
The airport has a single passenger terminal, rebuilt and expanded during a modernization project completed in 2020. The renovation increased the terminal to approximately 3,842 m² and added improved baggage control, flight information displays, CCTV, Wi-Fi, fire-safety and air-conditioning systems.
Located about 1 km west of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the airport is only a few minutes by taxi from the town centre, with taxis waiting outside the terminal. The short distance also makes it convenient for reaching the port, hotels and tour departure points.
San Cristóbal Airport operates during daylight hours and handles scheduled flights by airlines such as Avianca and LATAM to Guayaquil and Quito. As one of only two airports serving the Galápagos, it is an important link for residents and visitors travelling between the islands and mainland Ecuador.
