About Samos International Airport
Samos International Airport is the main airport serving the island of Samos in the eastern Aegean Sea. Opened in 1976 and later renovated, it has been operated by Fraport Greece since 2017 and handles scheduled domestic flights as well as international scheduled and charter services.
Located near Pythagoreio on the southeast coast, the airport is about 5 km from Pythagoreio and roughly 14–15 km from Samos Town (Vathy), the island's capital. Its compact single terminal is arranged over two floors, with check-in, security and boarding gates serving both domestic and international traffic.
The airport is connected to the rest of the island by local buses, taxis, private transfers and rental cars; there is no railway on Samos. The bus and taxi ranks are located directly outside the terminal, making it straightforward to reach Samos Town, Pythagoreio, Kokkari, Karlovasi and other coastal areas.
Although small, the terminal provides essential passenger services including a duty-free shop, coffee shops, free Wi-Fi, ATMs, currency exchange and first aid support, helping travelers move easily through arrival and departure.
