Karpathos Island National Airport is the main airport serving Karpathos and connects the island with Athens and seasonal international destinations. The airport first opened in 1970, and its current terminal was constructed between 2005 and 2009 before being inaugurated on 25 July 2009.
Located in the southwestern part of the island, the airport lies about 13 km from Pigadia, Karpathos's main town and ferry port. It handles a mix of domestic flights and summer leisure traffic, supporting tourism to coastal areas and villages across the island.
