River Cess Airport and Heliport (RVC)

River Cess Airport and Heliport is a small regional airfield serving River Cess, the capital of Rivercess County in south-eastern Liberia. It provides an essential aviation link for a remote coastal region where road access can be slow and is affected by seasonal rain, and it supports charter, government, humanitarian and emergency operations.

Located close to River Cess town, the airfield sits about 8 m above sea level and operates a single unpaved runway. There is no large passenger terminal and no regular scheduled commercial passenger service, so flights are typically arranged on demand rather than run to fixed public schedules.

River Cess lies roughly 160–165 km south-east of Monrovia by road, and onward travel is normally arranged in advance with a driver or local contact. The airfield is the closest aviation point for communities along this section of the Liberian coast, with Roberts International Airport near Monrovia serving as the main alternative gateway.

Because facilities are minimal, visitors should plan carefully and confirm pickup, fuel, food and water before flying. For those with pre-arranged support, the airstrip offers a practical shortcut into Rivercess County that avoids the long overland journey from the capital.
