Ratanakiri Airport (RBE)

Ratanakiri Airport serves Ban Lung and the wider Ratanakiri Province in northeastern Cambodia. Built in the 1960s, the airport later fell into disuse during the war years and was brought back into service in the 1990s for domestic connections.

Located about 2 km from central Ban Lung, the airport has a single runway and a compact terminal. Regular scheduled commercial flights have not operated to Ban Lung since the mid-2000s, and the airport now primarily handles chartered and private flights, while a new provincial airport has been proposed in Lumphat district to support future growth.

Road links connect the airport to Ban Lung, the province's main town, where taxis, tuk-tuks, motorbike rentals, private transfers and group vehicles continue to hotels, guesthouses and natural attractions such as Yeak Laom Lake and the region's waterfalls.

Despite its small size, the airport provides basic passenger facilities including a waiting area and limited food and retail services. For travelers arriving in Ratanakiri, it offers a simple entry point to the province's ecotourism areas, including Virachey National Park and local indigenous villages.
