About Mondulkiri Airport
Mondulkiri Airport is a small regional airfield serving Senmonorom, the capital of Cambodia's eastern Mondulkiri Province. The original airfield near the town dates back to the period after 1979, and it has primarily supported domestic and charter flights linking the province with other parts of Cambodia.
Located just outside Senmonorom town centre, the airport sits in the Mondulkiri highlands at an elevation of around 700 metres. Its single laterite runway and compact passenger area reflect the airport's role as a regional connection point rather than a large commercial hub.
The airfield is approximately 1 km from Senmonorom, making the journey into town short by taxi, private transfer or local transport. From Senmonorom, travelers can continue to waterfalls, elephant sanctuaries, coffee plantations and other eco-tourism sites across the province.
Because the existing airfield has had limited operations, authorities have identified land around 22 km from Senmonorom for a new regional airport intended to handle larger aircraft and improve access to Mondulkiri. Until that project is fully developed, the current airport remains a key reference point for travel planning to the region.
