About Pokhara International Airport
Pokhara International Airport is an international gateway serving Pokhara, Phewa Lake and the Annapurna trekking region in Nepal's Gandaki Province. Opened on 1 January 2023, it handles domestic flights alongside a growing range of international services and is one of Nepal's international airports.
The airport is located at Chhine Danda, about 3 km east of central Pokhara and roughly 4 km from the Lakeside tourist area. It has a single 2,500-metre runway and two terminal buildings: a main international terminal of about 10,000 square metres and a smaller domestic terminal of about 4,000 square metres.
Travellers can reach Pokhara by taxi, pre-booked transfer or local bus from the nearby Prithvi Highway, with the drive to Lakeside typically taking around 15 to 25 minutes. Kathmandu lies about 200 km to the east.
The airport provides restaurants, cafés, shops, a duty-free shop in the international terminal and free Wi-Fi, making it a practical arrival point for visitors heading to the Annapurna region's trekking trails and nearby lakeside towns.
