About Phetchabun Airport
Phetchabun Airport is a small regional airport serving Phetchabun province in northern Thailand. Opened on 8 April 2000 and operated by the Department of Airports, it was built to support domestic air connections and regional travel to and from this part of the lower north.
The airport is located in Lom Sak district, about 36 km north of Phetchabun city centre, and is also within reach of popular highland destinations such as Khao Kho. It features a single passenger terminal and a 2,100-metre asphalt runway, with facilities designed mainly for domestic flights, charters and general aviation.
Regular scheduled commercial passenger services have not operated since late 2018, so many travellers use the airport for private, charter or pre-arranged ground transport connections. Access is primarily by road along Route 21, with taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services and rental cars available for onward journeys.
Although the terminal is small, it provides a straightforward arrival and departure point for visitors heading to Phetchabun, Khao Kho, Lom Sak and the surrounding province.
