Pemba Airport, also known as Karume Airport or Wawi Airport, is the main airport serving Pemba Island in Tanzania’s Zanzibar Archipelago. It is located approximately 7 km southeast of Chake-Chake, the island’s administrative centre.
The airport has a single asphalt runway and one compact passenger terminal. It handles scheduled domestic and regional flights connecting Pemba with destinations such as Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, operated mainly by small aircraft and regional carriers.
