About Oyo Ollombo Airport
Oyo Ollombo Airport is an air gateway serving Oyo and the Cuvette Department in the central Republic of the Congo. Also known as Denis Sassou Nguesso Airport, the facility was inaugurated in 2007 and has been fully operational since March 2013, opening up the northern-central part of the country to faster air access.
The airport is located about 9 km southwest of Oyo, near the village of Ollombo, and is managed by AERCO with day-to-day operation by Egis Airport Operations. It features a single modern passenger terminal with a 3,300 m runway capable of handling large aircraft, along with a VIP terminal and lounge.
Passenger traffic is relatively light and consists mainly of government, business and private charter flights, with scheduled services varying over time. The airport generally operates during daylight hours, so travelers should confirm flight details and arrange onward transport in advance.
Road links connect the airport to Oyo, and travelers can continue by taxi, private transfer or rental vehicle to the city centre and other destinations in the region.
