About Oshima Airport
Oshima Airport is the main airport serving Izu Oshima, the largest of Tokyo's Izu Islands. Opened in June 1964 and operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, it provides essential air access for island residents and visitors. The airport is also known as Tokyo Oshima Camellia Airport.
Located near Motomachi in the northern part of the island, the airport has a single runway that was extended to 1,800 metres in 2002 and one compact terminal building. It handles fixed-wing flights to Chofu Airport in the Tokyo area, operated by New Central Airservice, as well as helicopter services to nearby islands such as Miyakejima and Toshima, operated by Toho Air Service.
The airport sits about 3 km from Motomachi, the island's main town. Oshima Bus services, taxis and private transfers connect the terminal with Motomachi, ferry ports and other parts of the island, while free car parking is available for travelers arriving by road.
