About Oradea International Airport
Oradea International Airport serves Oradea and Bihor County in northwestern Romania. The civilian airport has been operational since 1938, and in May 2024 a new expanded passenger terminal was inaugurated, doubling the airport's capacity to around 800 passengers per hour.
Located about 5 km southwest of central Oradea, near the road and rail border crossings to Hungary, the airport connects the city with Bucharest and European destinations such as Warsaw, Munich, Dortmund, Milan Bergamo and Rome, along with seasonal charter flights.
The terminal has dedicated Schengen and non-Schengen areas and is powered by green energy from photovoltaic and geothermal sources. Ground access includes bus line 28, taxis, car rental and private transfers, with the city centre reachable in roughly 10 to 15 minutes by car.
