Novo Progresso Airport (NPR)

Novo Progresso Airport is the small airport serving Novo Progresso, a municipality in the southwest of Pará in northern Brazil. Located close to the BR-163 highway, it functions as a local air link for the municipality and the surrounding Tapajós region, although it does not currently handle scheduled passenger flights. The airport operates a single gravel runway and a compact passenger terminal used mainly for general aviation and non-regular commercial operations. Its simple infrastructure is designed to support small aircraft, charter flights, and regional access rather than large-scale scheduled traffic. Situated about 3 km from the centre of Novo Progresso, the airport is reachable by road, and onward travel within the town is typically short. Connections to more distant destinations in Pará are made via the BR-163 corridor, which links the region with other parts of northern and central Brazil. Because passenger services are limited, travellers should confirm flight arrangements in advance and plan transfers and other ground services carefully. The airport remains an important local facility for the municipality and surrounding areas.
