About Ninglang Luguhu Airport
Ninglang Luguhu Airport is a small domestic airport serving Ninglang Yi Autonomous County and the Lugu Lake scenic area on the Yunnan-Sichuan border. Opened on 12 October 2015, it was built mainly to improve access to Lugu Lake and sits at about 3,293 metres above sea level, making it one of the highest commercial airports in Yunnan.
The airport has a single compact terminal and a 3,400-metre runway, with passengers boarding on the apron rather than via airbridges. Domestic flights connect the Lugu Lake region with Kunming and other Chinese cities such as Chengdu, Chongqing and Guiyang.
It is located in Shifoshan, Hongqiao Township, roughly 25 km from the Lugu Lake scenic area and about 50 km from the Ninglang county seat. Airport shuttle buses run to lakeside villages such as Daluoshui, while taxis, private transfers and local vehicles serve Lugu Lake, Ninglang and surrounding areas.
With modest facilities designed for moderate passenger numbers, the airport is a convenient entry point for travellers heading to Lugu Lake, the Mosuo communities and the wider Yunnan-Sichuan border region.
