About Nanjing Lukou International Airport
Nanjing Lukou International Airport is the main airport serving Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province, and an important hub for the Yangtze River Delta region. It opened on July 1, 1997, replacing the city's older Dajiaochang Airport and giving Jiangsu a modern commercial air gateway.
Located about 35 km south of central Nanjing in Lukou Town, Jiangning District, the airport operates two passenger terminals and connects the city to domestic and international destinations. Terminal 2, opened in 2014, handles all international flights as well as China Eastern Airlines and Juneyao Airlines domestic services, while Terminal 1, reopened in 2020 after renovation, mainly serves other domestic carriers.
The airport is linked to the city by Metro Line S1, which runs between the airport and Nanjing South Railway Station, and by taxis, airport shuttle buses and ride-hailing services. Shuttle buses also connect with nearby cities in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces.
