About Morin Dawa Banner Airport
Morin Dawa Banner Airport is a small general aviation airport serving Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner and the surrounding Hulunbuir region in Inner Mongolia. It supports short-haul regional flights and general aviation activity, providing a local air link in a largely road-based transport area.
Construction of the airport began in November 2013, and in December 2018 it received its A1 general aviation airport operating license. A short-haul passenger service to Hulunbuir's Hailar Airport was launched in December 2019, and the IATA code DWS was assigned in May 2020.
The airport has a single 1,200-metre runway, three aircraft stands, and one compact passenger terminal. Located about 10 km from Ni'erji, the administrative centre of Morin Dawa Banner, it is reached by road and offers parking and basic waiting facilities.
Future plans include upgrading the facility to a 3C civil transport airport, which would expand its role as a regional gateway for the banner and nearby areas.
