About Monte Alegre Airport
Monte Alegre Airport serves the municipality of Monte Alegre in the western part of Pará, Brazil, on the northern bank of the Amazon River. As a small public regional airport, it provides an important air link for the Lower Amazon region, where river transport has traditionally been the main way to reach isolated communities.
The airport has a single asphalt runway and a modest single-story passenger terminal designed for basic regional operations. Scheduled regional services, including flights operated with small turboprop aircraft, have connected Monte Alegre with the regional hub of Santarém and other nearby Amazonian towns.
Located about 1 km from the centre of Monte Alegre, the airport is a short taxi ride from town. It also serves as a gateway for onward travel to river communities and local attractions in the surrounding area.
Facilities are limited, so passengers should confirm flights directly with regional operators and arrange onward transport in advance. The airport mainly supports domestic regional travel and provides essential air access to this part of the Brazilian Amazon.
