Mihail Kogălniceanu International Airport is the main international airport serving Constanța and Romania's Black Sea coast. It connects travelers to the city, the seaside resorts around Mamaia, and the wider Dobrogea region, supporting scheduled and seasonal passenger traffic.
The site was built as a military airbase in 1955 and opened to civil operations in 1960. A passenger terminal followed in 1962, and the airport has been expanded and modernized over the decades; a new passenger terminal was inaugurated in 2026.
Located about 26 km northwest of central Constanța, the airport is reached via the A2 motorway and European roads E60 and E87. Public buses, taxis, car rental and private transfers connect the terminal with Constanța and the nearby Black Sea resorts.
The terminal provides waiting areas, a snack bar, free Wi-Fi, car parking, an ATM, a medical office and accessibility services, making it a compact gateway for leisure and business travelers to the Black Sea coast.
