M'Boki Airport (MKI)

M'Boki Airport is a small airfield serving Obo and Mboki in the Haut-Mbomou prefecture of the southeastern Central African Republic. It provides a vital air connection for a remote region where road access is limited, linking the area with domestic destinations and supporting humanitarian and development flights.

The airport is located about 3 kilometres northwest of M'Boki village and roughly 60 kilometres west of Obo, the capital of Haut-Mbomou prefecture. Its single runway has been upgraded to around 1,750 metres and reinforced to handle larger cargo aircraft such as the C-130, improving access for relief and development operations.

Road links connect the airfield with Mboki and Obo, although conditions can be difficult, particularly during the rainy season. There is no regular public transport network, so travellers generally arrange road transfers, project vehicles or charter transport in advance.

Passenger facilities are very limited, with no dedicated terminal, customs or immigration services. The airport is used mainly by humanitarian and chartered flights, so travellers should confirm flight details and onward transport before arrival.
