About Marmul Airport
Marmul Airport is a small oilfield airport in southern Oman that supports operations around the Marmul oil field. The airport became operational in the first quarter of 2008 after PDO built it to ICAO and Omani civil aviation standards, and it has been managed by Oman Airports since 2019.
Located about 7 km west-south-west of Marmul Camp, the airport serves mainly PDO and contractor staff travelling between Muscat and the oilfield area. It has a single asphalt runway, a compact modern terminal and basic passenger facilities.
Flights are restricted to operations on behalf of PDO or aircraft with prior permission, with scheduled Oman Air services linking Muscat and Marmul. The airport also provides Jet A-1 refuelling, ground handling during daytime operating hours and firefighting cover arranged in advance.
By road, Salalah lies roughly 235 to 240 km away, so onward travel is normally arranged in advance through private transfers, company transport or self-drive journeys across the Dhofar region.
