About Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is the main international airport serving Málaga and the Costa del Sol, one of Spain's most important leisure and business gateways. It opened in 1919 and has grown into a key entry point for the Andalusian coast, handling a large share of domestic and international traffic into southern Spain.

Located in the Churriana district about 8 km southwest of central Málaga, the airport has three interconnected passenger terminals. Terminal 3 is the main terminal for most airlines, Terminal 2 mainly serves easyJet and Ryanair, and Terminal 1 is kept for overflow use rather than regular passenger operations.

The airport is connected to the city by the C1 suburban train line, the A Express airport bus, taxis, private transfers and rental cars, with direct road access from the MA-20 and A-7 motorways. Under normal conditions the journey to central Málaga takes roughly 12 to 20 minutes, making onward travel along the coast and inland relatively straightforward.

Inside the terminal complex, passengers can find a wide range of restaurants, cafés, shops, duty-free outlets, lounges, Wi-Fi, charging points and accessibility services. These facilities, combined with its coastal location and transport links, make the airport a practical and well-connected gateway to Málaga and the wider Costa del Sol.
