Macapá–Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport (MCP)

Macapá–Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport is the main airport serving Macapá, the capital of Amapá in northern Brazil, and provides an essential air link for the surrounding Amazon region. The state has limited road connections with the rest of Brazil, making air and river transport especially important for reaching the city and nearby communities.

The current passenger terminal opened in 2019, replacing the previous facility with a larger two-level building of around 27,200 m² and capacity for considerably more passengers. The single terminal handles domestic operations, while international infrastructure is available and customs and border procedures can be activated when international flights operate.

The airport is located in the Jesus de Nazaré neighborhood, about 3 km from central Macapá. Travelers can reach the city centre and surrounding areas by taxi, ride-hailing services, rental cars and private transfers, with local bus routes passing near the airport.

Facilities include check-in counters, shops, a food court, a duty-free area, ATMs, Wi-Fi and accessibility support. As a gateway to a city crossed by the Equator, the airport also connects passengers with onward river journeys from nearby Santana and destinations across Amapá.
