About Lorenzo Airport
Lorenzo Airport (MXQ) is a small private airport serving Morro de São Paulo, a car-free beach village on Tinharé Island in the municipality of Cairu, Bahia. It is the only airport directly serving the village and provides regional air access to one of Bahia's best-known coastal destinations.
Located about 1 km from the village centre of Morro de São Paulo and roughly 15 km from downtown Cairu, the airport has a single short runway of around 800 metres and a compact passenger terminal. It handles regional flights operated with small aircraft.
Because Tinharé Island has no vehicular access, onward travel from the airport to the village and nearby beaches is usually made by local transport, on foot or by pre-arranged transfer. Longer journeys to Salvador and the mainland are made by boat or ferry, or by continuing flights through the state capital.
Abaeté Aviação operates regional flights between Lorenzo Airport and Salvador da Bahia, giving travellers a convenient air link to the state capital and onward connections.
